Obtaining Russian citizenship for children
Another simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation is obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation for children. In this case, the applicant does not initially need to receive a quota for the Russian Federation citizenship. Unlike obtaining Citizenship for Parents, Citizenship for Children can be obtained only if a foreign citizen is a legally capable person and his children are minors or incapable and in need of guardianship. The second category, which gives the right to obtain Citizenship for Children, is disabled people and pensioners whose children are able-bodied citizens of the Russian Federation who can provide for their parents.
Obtaining Russian Citizenship for Children consists of three stages, and although this procedure is considered to be simplified, the first stage is to obtain a residence permit and only then, at the very last third stage, to obtain Russian Citizenship.
